Amazon.com Product Description Rolling suitcases are all the rage in airports, but they've always offered one small problem: when the ground isn't smooth, they're a pain to carry. Enter the Sea-Tac rolling backpack, which offers the same wheeled convenience thanks to its inline skate wheels and retractable handle, but fits comfortably on your back the rest of the time. The Sea-Tac offers a pair of non-slip shoulder straps made of breathable fabric for carrying, along with a fold-down padded back. The resulting fit is snug and secure, making the Sea-Tac an ideal day pack for traveling. When you need to use the wheels, however, the shoulder straps fold unobtrusively into a stowaway harness. As a result, the pack also excels as an airplane carry-on. Storage-wise, the 2,800-cubic-inch pack includes a large expandable main compartment with five subdivided pockets, along with a divided front pocket for smaller items. Technologically minded users will also dig the CD pocket, which holds a personal CD/MP3 player, and the exterior cell phone pouch. And the quick-access mesh pocket is perfect for books, pens, and other items you might want to grab before takeoff. The Sea-Tac measures 14 by 21 by 9 inches (W x H x D) and is backed by a lifetime warranty. About Outdoor Products Outdoor Products is a worldwide outdoor sporting goods manufacturer, established in 1973. Before that time, the Outdoor Products founders were busy retailing outdoor sporting goods in their Los Angeles-based department store, "The Famous Department Store". This retail establishment was noted for a wide array of merchandise and was the primary source for outdoor gear in Southern California during that time. The experience of buying and selling outdoor gear eventually led the Outdoor Products family to designing and manufacturing their own goods. Eventually, the new product line became the hottest-selling items in all their four floors of retail space. Backpack November 23, 2008 H. Thompson (Covington, GA) Bought this for my nephew. Lots of compartments and it seems to be very sturdy. Hopefully it can withstand a very active 10yr old boy. Wish there were more color options.
Backpack Review August 4, 2008 Mark Pinder (Las Vegas, NV United States) I purchased the item for my husband for his birthday and he loves it. I had wanted to find a backpack that he could put his laptop and other items in and not have to carry it around on his back when he was traveling, he also uses it on a daily basis for work and says it's just perfect for what he needed it for.
Large & Durable Rolling Bag May 6, 2008 LineOLine (MD United States) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Large interior (expandable by an additional inch or 2), 4 pockets, long rolling handle (huge plus), and so far extremely durable. I carry at least 2 laptops and a scanner 5 days a week (sometimes 3 scanners and 1 laptop). I've had the bag for 2 months and it continues to hold up well. There is only very minor fraying of the fabric near the wheels where it's dragged. The handle on the top doesn't show any signs of giving out soon. The zippers are still in perfect shape. The wheels are very smooth and it manuvers well. This is truly a large bag though - not something you'd give to a kid in elementary school. The only drawback is that it doesn't quickly convert to a backpack - you have to unzip the straps and wrap the flap over the wheels. It's just not as easy as another rolling backpack I had. This is probably only a small concern for most, however. I don't have a problem with it (hence 5 stars).
not pleased March 11, 2008 K. Barnett 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
My fourth grader has used this bag for less than 4 weeks and the material is already busted over both wheels. It is much bulkier than it appeared it would be. He says it gets knocked off the hook and stepped on all the time in the coat closet where the kids hang their backpacks. I am not happy with how quickly the material has busted.
Rolling Back Pack Review February 8, 2008 B. Turner (Dallas, Texas, USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This back pack is well made. I was looking for a pack that would roll. The handle is long enough that I don't have to bend over to pull it. I'm 5'8". The wheels I was especially concerned with and this has the durable roller-blade wheels that will last. Those rubber ones didn't last 3 months wheeling through a downtown metroplex every day. There are many compartments, more room inside the largest than I've ever had. I just wish it had something a little more handy for things like bus passes or parking cards. But it seems to be a good quality bag and is helping my back considerably.
